IMPORTANT DATES 

October 30 – students can wear their costumes or dressed Halloween themed, please remember:  

No masks, no gory make-up and no weapons  

November 10 – Remembrance Day Assembly @ 9:00 AM (Grade 3 parents invited to attend)  

October 30 - Parent Conferences open at 7pm  

November 11, 12, 13 – Fall Break – No School  

SAVE THE DATE – December 3 for Three Left Feet Showcase (specific times for your child's class will follow)  

November 18 - Fun Lunch Sweet Rice  

November 19 - Parent Council Virtual Meeting 

November 25 - Photo Retakes and class photos 

November 26 & 27 – Parent Conferences 

ALBERTA EDUCATION SCREENER RESULTS 

Today you will receive an envelope containing the following: 

  • An informational fact sheet to help you understand the provincial assessments and the information being shared. 
  • Numeracy results 
  • Literacy results  

Please note that the provincial government has mandated that these results be shared with all families. (Kindergarten students do not participate in these assessments in September, only in January.) It is important to understand that these results represent one piece of a much larger puzzle when it comes to understanding your child as a learner. They provide valuable information that help teachers plan instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students. 

A student’s learning cannot be fully captured by a single assessment or score. We consider a wide range of evidence, alongside our knowledge of each child, to develop a comprehensive picture of their strengths, needs, and next steps. 

We look forward to discussing your child’s learning in greater detail during our Parent-Teacher Conferences in November. 

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES  

Dates for Conferences: 

Mme Cangemi/ Mme Colleen/ Mme Ilana: November 9/10 - 3-5:30 

All other Grades 1-4 teachers: November 26: 3:30-7:30 and November 27: 8-11 

Kindergarten:  

Mme Michelle: November 26: 8-12, 2:45-7 

Mme Willis/ Mme Sara: November 26: 8-12, 2:45-7 and November 27: 8-11:15

VETERAN’S FOOD DRIVE 

Our veteran's food drive will take place from October 26th until November 10th.  Students can bring non-perishable items to place in the food collection boxes that will be placed around the school.  Please see the attached wish list of items they are specifically looking for.
