Welcome to Our School

Staggered Entry 2026/2027

Staggered Entry: August 31 & September 1 

We wanted to share the entry information for your incoming Kindergarten students with you. Below, you’ll see the times and dates for when your child is to be here at school for a staggered entry process. During that time, your child will be in class with teachers getting to see the classrooms and having some playtime together. 

While students are in with the Kindergarten teaching team, parents are invited to join us in the library for a Welcome to Sam Community information session. You’ll have a chance to meet the Administration team, members of our School Council, our front office staff and learn all about what school at Sam Livingston looks like for both you and your child. 

Please note that the yellow school bus service is not available these days. 

The first two days of school will be staggered entry days where your child will attend for a 75-minute block.  This allows our teachers to get to know the students and create optimal class lists; should we need to make adjustments, we will contact you. Please note, we aim to minimize adjustments; however, they can be made up until the middle of October. 

Your child will attend the first or second day based on their last name.  

Your child does not attend both days.

Students with Surnames A - L: 

Students with Surnames M - Z: 

First Day of School Information: 

First regular day of classes, both AM and PM is Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Yeah! 

Yellow school bus service is available starting Wednesday, September 2, 2026. 

AM Hours: 8:00 - 10:50 AM 

PM Hours: 11:40 AM - 2:30 PM 

Friday, September 5 is an AM Kindergarten day. 

Only AM Kindergarten students attend.   

Your PM child does NOT attend on this Friday. 

A calendar of Fridays will be shared in August. 

Send Your Child With: 

Their backpack containing:  

• indoor shoes (labelled with your child's name) 
• a filled & non-breakable water bottle (labelled with your child's name) 
• a snack 

Indoor shoes will remain at school. 

Please ensure that all of your child's belongings are labelled with their name.   

Bus Registration: DEADLINE, June 14, 2026

You may get your child’s CBE Id number from MyCBE (It is required for bus registration.) 

Routes and stops are created based on the addresses of registered riders. If you are considering bussing your child to school, we encourage you to register for bussing now as there is no penalty to cancel before September 30, 2026.   

Families must register by Sunday, June 14, 2026, for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year. 

Hours for Current Year 2026/27

Kindergarten classes are half days Monday through Thursday with designated Fridays for AM or PM.

AM Kindergarten

• Arrival 7:45 AM - there is no supervision prior to 7:45 AM
• 8:00 - 10:40 AM

PM Kindergarten

• Arrival 11:35 AM
• 11:40 AM - 2:30 PM

Fridays

• 8:00 AM  to 12:00 PM
• Kindergarten attends on alternating Fridays.
