Volunteer Sign Up
Wed Sep 17, 2025 – Wed Jun 17, 2026
We need help bagging and delivering popcorn. The more volunteers we have the faster we finish. Because we are in the school, volunteers will need to have their security checks completed. Please contact the school office for information on how to get your security check started. No younger siblings please.

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities
We are still looking to fill a few more spots for our upcoming Casino on November 11th and 12th. Volunteering requires no prior experience; on-site training is provided by employees. This initiative is done once approximately every 18 months to directly financially support our students at Sam Livingston. Please consider signing up for a shift.

General Volunteer Information
- People who are interested in volunteering at Sam Livingston School require a valid PIC, including a Vulnerable Sector Check.
- PICs are valid for five years from the date of issue and can be used at multiple CBE Schools.
- Applicants must have lived in Canada for at least a year and be a resident of Calgary with a Calgary address in order to use the ePIC system.
- Volunteers who reside outside Calgary must obtain a PIC, including a Vulnerable Sector Check, from the RCMP or police agency in the jurisdiction where they live. This must be submitted to your school.
- CPS only sends clearance letters directly to the applicant. Once an applicant receives their letter from CPS, online access to their clearance letter is granted for only 60 days. After the 60-day period they would need to reapply.
- Each year it is required to fill out an Annual Volunteer Form which can be found under 'Related Information'.
2025-2026 Application & Cost
CBE, in partnership with Calgary Police Services (CPS) have implemented a solution to have the full cost of the application covered by a voucher system which is funded by Volunteer Alberta.
Voucher costs are covered for Online Applications only. If you apply in-person an application fee will apply.
Upon receipt of the volunteer application form from the applicant, the school will generate an ePIC letter. The CBE, through Corporate Security, will send a weekly report to CPS with a list of names and email addresses of volunteer applicants. CPS will then load a voucher code directly to the ePIC system for that name and email address.
Volunteers should wait to submit their application until they receive an email from PoliceSoluntions.ca – CPS Record Check inviting them to apply for their PIC with the Vulnerable Sector (VS) for Volunteer. This will ensure the voucher is ready to be redeemed by the volunteer.
If a volunteer submits their own payment, there is no option for a refund. Additionally, there is no refund option for volunteers who have previously submitted and paid for ePIC applications.
