WELCOME BACK:

Welcome back! We hope you had a wonderful summer filled with rest, fun, and time with family and friends. Our teachers have been busy planning, preparing, and setting up classrooms, and the excitement in the building is contagious as we get ready to welcome our students back.

We are thrilled to begin another school year filled with learning, growth, and new opportunities. Together, we’ll continue to create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where every student feels valued and inspired to do their best.

Here’s to a great year ahead—we can’t wait to see you in the halls and classrooms!

FIRST DAY PROCEDURES

You should have received a welcome/ introductory letter from your child’s teacher. If you have not, please do not worry. Come to Sam Livingston Tuesday morning at 7:45 and find an adult in a vest. They will guide you to where you need to go. You are welcome to reply to this email should you have further questions as well.

Upon arrival on the first day:

Entrance Procedures Grade 1 students:

Please plan on meeting me at the east compound the bike racks. Look for your child’s room number on the brick wall starting at 7:45 am.
Teachers will be checking off student names and confirming end of the day procedures for your child (whether they take the bus, go to daycare, before and after school care, or are being picked up by you) so please do not leave your child until you have spoken with the teacher first.
Please note that if there are changes at any time during the year, for example if another parent is picking up your child, it is essential that you notify the office and email your child’s teacher about this change minimum of 30 minutes prior to the end of day.

Entrance Procedures for Grades 2-4:

Students remain outside until the bell rings and then follow this procedure:

Grade 2s will meet their teachers on the east compound next to the tipi

beginning at 7:45 am.

Grade 3s will meet their teachers on the west compound by the doors that lead into the entrance by the portable, beginning at 7:45 am.
Grade 4s will meet their teachers in the west field at the entrance to the portable (with the stairs), beginning at 7:45 am.

MEET THE TEACHER AND WELCOME BACK BBQ !

MEET THE TEACHER: September 4, 4-5 pm (please plan to attend one session EITHER from 4-4:30 or 4:30-5)

Families will have the opportunity to meet the teachers and be aquatinted with grade level programming expectations through a brief presentation.

We’re kicking off the new school year with our Welcome Back BBQ on Thursday, September 4 from 4:30 –6:30pm at Sam Livingston! 🌭🍔 Come enjoy some good food, reconnect with friends, and celebrate the start of another great year. Hotdogs and chips provided. Please note that to cut down on waste there will be no water bottles provided. Please bring your own!
