What a wonderful first 2 days we had here at Sam. Entry was so smooth and that is in large part due to your support and cooperation. We all enjoyed seeing the students and families and are so excited for this year ahead.
Wasp Warning
Please be aware that ‘tis the season for wasps outside. Students are reminded to let wasps do their thing and not disturb them should they come across their path. If students are stung, we follow First Aid procedures and call you to let you know. If your child needs an Epi Pen here at school, please ensure this is on-site as soon as possible along with the completed medical forms. (see below for details)

Health Forms - Medications
If you completed the attached Health form that teachers sent out, and/ or dropped medication off at the office, there is a second form that needs to be completed. Please ensure that both forms are filled out. There are copies of the second form in the office.
It is requested that students wear epi-pens and inhalers on their person, in a fanny pack and that an extra one be housed in the office. If your child does not wear it, it is essential that you let the classroom teacher know where it will be kept.
Get to Know...Office Edition
Mme Winter Peters – sits at the front desk and has been at Sam for 7 years. Her smile and positivity keep us all motivated throughout the day. Mme Winter can help with volunteering questions, bussing questions and many other things.
Mme Carah Scherwitz- sits at the second desk in the office and is new to Sam. Welcome Carah! Carah has been with the Calgary Board of Education for 9 years, working in the administrative assistant role for 2 years. A native Calgarian who lives in the area. She brings a wealth of knowledge and calm to the office.
Mme Rayna Bergerman – is the Assistant Principal. Mme Bergerman has been at Sam for 7 years and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge with regard to special education and emotional regulation.
Mme Sanghamitra Dhar McKenty – is the Principal. She has been at Sam for 6 years. Mme Dhar McKenty has been with the board for 24 years and brings a depth and breadth of experience, expertise and leadership, that all help to serve our community in multiple ways.
Mme Maria Torre – (not pictured) - is our Lead Lunch Supervisor and helps in the office. Mme Maria has been working at Sam for 7 years. Mme Maria has a heart of gold and is happy to help where and when needed.
