COYOTE FRIENDS IN THE AREA

Today students were brought inside during the lunch hour recess due to a coyote that was on school property.  The bell was rung, and all supervisors ensured that each student was safely inside the building as a precaution.

The coyote returned again in the afternoon and although not displaying aggressive behaviour when he got close to the property, we again, as a precaution, brought the students participating in Nature Play inside until the coast was clear.

We are hopeful that this particular coyote is simply curious about what is happening in his space as the Envirolab is very busy these days.

We also caution that due to his apparent comfort level, families are extra vigilant when in the area.

MOVIE REMINDERS

We are going to Landmark Shawnessy by bus tomorrow for a French movie called Hola Frida.  Students are invited to bring their own snacks.  The concession will not be open.

We will leave the school around 9:00am and return prior to dismissal at noon.

Conferences:

Student-led Conferences:

We are excited to invite you to our Student-Led Conferences on Thursday, March 19.

Conferences will be scheduled in 20-minute blocks, and we ask that each family sign up for one time slot per student.

During this time, your child will take the lead in sharing their learning, progress, and work samples with you. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to reflect on their growth and celebrate their achievements.

Teachers will be present in the classrooms; however, the purpose of this evening is for students to guide the conversation and showcase their work. If a classroom teacher feels that additional discussion is needed, they will reach out to schedule a virtual conference for Friday, March 20.

We kindly request that all families make every effort to attend on the evening of March 19. Your presence and support are incredibly meaningful to your child.

Conferences will be open for booking March 4 at 7pm and close March 18 at 7pm.
