Eye Contact at Dismissal
When picking up your child, we are requesting that you exit your vehicle and make eye contact with the staff member dismissing students. This helps confirm that each child is safely accounted for. In a busy dismissal area, a missed connection or assumption could lead to a serious safety concern—what if a child leaves with the wrong person or without adult awareness? Your attention in this moment truly matters.
Alternate Pick-Up Arrangements
If someone other than the individuals listed in PowerSchool will be picking up your child, please send an email to the school office and homeroom teacher in advance that includes the student’s full name. For safety reasons, we cannot release students to unlisted individuals without prior written notification.
Running Late
If you are running late, no problem. Your child will be waiting for you in the office.
Students Walking Home
If your child will be walking home at the end of the day, please send an email to the office and homeroom teacher confirming this plan.
Deadline for End-of-Day Changes
All end-of-day dismissal changes must be communicated to the office no later than 12:00 p.m. This allows us sufficient time to inform staff and students and to ensure that dismissal runs smoothly and safely. Should changes be communicated after 12:00pm, we will dismiss students as per normal.
Keep in mind that teachers are not able to check emails during the day while they are teaching.
We appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us keep all students safe. Thank you for your attention to these important procedures. Please contact the office should you have questions.
TRAFFIC REMINDERS
When parking to drop off or pick up, please do not block crosswalks or driveways. You must park 5 meters away from any crosswalk. Backing into a crosswalk is extremely dangerous.
- Please cross at the crosswalks – not between the busses.
- Please do not park in the crosswalks or in front of driveways.
- Please be mindful of your speed in all areas around our community, including alleyways.
- Please do NOT walk through the parking lot.
- Please be mindful of pets on leash, they are low to the ground.
- Dogs are not allowed on school property.
- Even when running late, please follow the traffic guidelines to maintain safety – we will welcome you anytime you come.
- Please remember to look both ways before entering a crosswalk.
