March 3 - 14 Semaines de la Francophonie!
Semaine de la Francophonie and Carnaval
Hello Sam Families!
As our amazing Semaines de la Francophonie and Carnaval celebrations approach, we are gearing up for our greatest ice castle ever! We encourage everyone to please start saving your 2L milk/juice cartons so that we have at least 4 ice blocks per child! Yes, this is our goal!
Do note that it is very important these jugs have not held any nut milks (almond, cashew) to ensure the safety of all our students. Now is also a great time to do some meal planning around what’s in your freezer to clear out that extra bit of space in case we warm up in late Feb/early March.
Be sure to wash your cartons out with hot soapy water and store them until our next email with ice block making instructions.
Thank you families, we can’t wait to see how our epic ice castle turns out!
Kind regards,
The Sam Carnaval Committee
Fees
Current (and some) future field trip fees are ready to be paid by using your MyCBE account. Swimming fees have now been added to parent accounts. Please pay as soon as possible.
The recorders for Musc have arrived. If your grade 3 or 4 child ordered a recorder their fee must be paid by Monday to receive their recorder.
If you are in need of fee assistance please go to your myCBE account and submit a fee waiver request or reach out to Mme Dhar McKenty or Mme Bergerman
School Council
We are excited to have Park96 host Sam Livingston school over three evenings in February. It will be a two hour event that Sam students and their immediate families can enjoy some outdoor ice skating in the community. Volunteer shifts will be created to help set up a hot chocolate stand, sell hot chocolate and treats, and end of event clean up.
Volunteers for this event will be permitted to bring up to 3 immediate family members with them on the same night as their volunteer shift. An email will be sent out with volunteer information and tickets closer to the event date.
If you have any questions, please email samlivingstonvolunteer@gmail.com
