OPPORTUNITY TO AUDITION

Dear Parents/Guardians,
This letter is to inform you that your child has the opportunity to audition for Youth Theatre Canada in Calgary’s upcoming Spring 2026 program, Beauty and the Beast!

Auditions will be taking place on Monday, February 23rd (lunch period) at Sam Livingston.  Youth Theatre will be casting students in Grade 4.

No preparation or experience is required, but please wear comfortable clothing. If asked to attend a callback audition, it will take place in in early March. Details will be sent via email, so we ask that you please ensure your email address is legible.

Youth Theatre Canada - Calgary is a professional school for stage training and performance, providing opportunities for students with beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels of experience. There is no cost to audition. If selected to be a part of the program, there is a tuition fee (financial assistance provided for interested families). As well, instructors will work with families to establish a carpool for students from the Greater Calgary Area.

Facilitating two programs and, if cast, students have the option to choose either Saturdays (2-5pm) or Sundays (1–4pm), not both. The program will culminate with our Spring Showcase presented mid-June.

The permission slip is attached here and paper copies were provided to students at school. Students were told that they may not audition without a form.

Thank you.

Spray the inside of your carton with PAM or another nut free oil

Add water and any food colouring or natural items to your block (please nothing that will hurt the environment)

Place your carton upright in the freezer for 4-5 days!

Bring your ice blocks to school the morning of Thursday February 19, please place them in the triangular green space in front of the parking lot between 7:00 – 7:30 am, 8:30 – 2:00 pm and 3:00 – up to you pm.
