Everything is cancelled from October 6th until October 31st
Sam Says will be cancelled until further notice.
The Parent Council has rented out the building for the annual Halloween Dance, which means the dance can continue!
Activities cancelled for the month of October are:
- Healthy Hunger Lunches (October 15 (A & W), Oct 22 (popcorn), Oct 31 (Halloween Cookies – Out of Chaos)
- Book Fair
Activities cancelled but will be rescheduled:
- Parent/ Teacher Conferences
- Green Fools Residency – this will be rescheduled
All classes and transportation are cancelled. Families are being asked not to send their children to school.
A NOTE FROM PARENT COUNCIL
The EnviroLab (outdoor treed space on the NE corner of the school) was created in 2002 by the Parent Council through fundraising/donations, for the students and community of Sam Livingston school, to play and learn about outdoor ecosystems and the environment.
Unfortunately, we are increasingly finding elements of this space not being cared for as they should be. Young trees are being climbed and are now cracked and broken, not able to be replanted. Branches are being ripped off from both mature and new trees.
This space is a delicate ecosystem and the balance of each tree, shrub and plant has been mindfully and intentionally planned out. The cost of maintaining and including new trees is significant.
We encourage discovery and exploration; a learning space for all.
We are also inviting parents, students and siblings to help educate everyone in our special space to remember that we are all responsible for the living things we cherish; and to please treat them respectfully.

Casino Volunteers Needed: We are still looking to fill a few more spots for our upcoming Casino on November 11th and 12th. Volunteering requires no prior experience; on-site training is provided by employees. This initiative is done once approximately every 18 months to directly financially support our students at Sam Livingston. Please consider signing up for a shift.
