Welcome to the 2023/24 school year! We have had a wonderful start to the year and were very pleased to meet many of you during the Welcome Back BBQ. A great big thank you to the volunteers who spent countless hours organizing, shopping, setting up and cleaning up.
We have many exciting, educational events planned for this year to support the language learning that is happening in the classrooms.
As we move into this new school year, we will be busy implementing the new science, French, math and Phys Ed and Well Being programs of study.
Our teams are busy collaborating and creating engaging tasks for all students.
We are also excited to announce our participation in a few programs this year: Trickster, swimming and an Alien In-Line skating residency.
We continue on our path to acknowledge and support ReconciliAction through professional learning to acquire and apply foundational knowledge about First Nations, Métis and Inuit for the benefit of all students, staff, and families. We endeavour to acknowledge and support the implementation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action within our teachings on a daily basis.
Over the summer we welcomed four new teachers to our building:
Mme Middleton – Grade 1
M. Kyle – Grade 2
M. Erik – Grade 2
Mme Mariama – Grade 3
We are very excited for this school year!
